Our vision for healthy country goes beyond supporting ecological outcomes and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander wellbeing. We want career pathways that keep us on country, to become economic participants in regional development, and have sovereignty over our futures throughout our lifetimes. We want our people to feel safe and healthy in our communities, have meaningful community spaces to connect, and for our youth to be supported as the next and future generation of leaders. We want platforms for community to reach into representative bodies and services, and for those services to have the capability to reach out. We want a future where our shared history is recognised and part of our national identity - paving a pathway for more Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led initiatives, enabling our communities to determine our economic, cultural, and spiritual development.
